Hey, I figured out how to upload pictures to my computer from my phone :) So this is the recipe box I made and the link to the video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdW2GtZXg-s I am entering this into a contest at Paper Phenomenon. Kathy Orta is the genius who comes up with these designs and this tutorial is called Easel Top Recipe Box. I purchased the tutorial months ago, but had not tried it until now. I am doing an exchange with one of my FB groups called Scrapbook Friends and More Crafts. This month the exchange was for a recipe box or album - your partner's choice - so when my partner said she wanted a recipe box, I was ecstatic because I knew I was going to make this one for her. I hope she loves it as much as I do. My girls can't believe I am giving it away. I told them I would help them each make one so they can start collecting recipes for when they move out :) I hope my exchange partner doesn't see this before she gets it as it would ruin the surprise, but I'm going to risk it anyway. Much love!

MIA
So sorry I have been MIA for so long. I must confess I have a new addiction. Well, sort of new... I have been spending a lot of time lately crafting with some new friends I have met on Facebook!!! I never spent a lot of time on FB in the past but in the last few months, I have become involved with a couple of FB crafting groups and I have been taking part in a lot of exchanges and swaps and challenges. Tons of fun! However, I never seem to have time to visit my own blog, much less anybody else. So I want to apologize for not visiting you all.
Here are some pics of things I have been working on lately:

Quite a variety of crafty projects and I'm having a lot of fun. I also just finished a recipe box for an exchange and I took pictures with my phone, but can't figure out how to load them onto my computer except for FB and I don't want to load them there in case my exchange partner sees it before she receives it. However, I did do a video and posted it to youtube - please be kind, this is my first video and it is not great :( If you want to see it, the link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdW2GtZXg-s
Okay lovely people, I'm off to bed. Take care and happy Autumn!

Facebook groups
Another quick post... I mentioned that I belong to a FB group (actually more than one) and I thought I might tell you a little more in case you are interested in joining some fun ladies online! These are both closed groups and you must request to join, but so well worth it! The admins are fabulous and actually belong to both groups.
One is Scrapbook Friends and More. This is a site that is filled with fun and inspiration. They have a monthly swap and exchange and also challenges. They have mini classes like Quilling and they have game night on Tuesday which is always a ton of fun. They just had a traveling crop in May in Tennessee and people went from all over the US. I was not able to go because of finances but I am definitely hoping to go next year. They have not picked a spot yet, but they try to pick a place as central as possible. The members are so much fun and always posting such inspirational projects. This is the group I am making a wind chime for (a different one from the one I posted below).... have never made a wind chime but that is one of the great things - they like to inspire us to make new things :) They also have sales posted from the various craft stores, tutorials, discussions about tools and such, just a ton of good things to help you be a better crafter and they are FUN!
The other is Creative Swappers. This is just what it sounds like... lots of fun swaps! A lot of the same people belong to both groups and we have way too much fun :) We have a "color swap" every month where the color is chosen and then you sign up for what you want to make in that color. I have made 24 pink stick pins for June and 26 red, white and blue stick pins for July. You don't have to make the same thing every month, I just happened to be in a stick pin mode so that is what I signed up for :) We also recently swapped vintage tags/cards - I can't wait to get mine in the mail! Lots of fun swaps going on in that group. This group is newer than SFM, but they are working on having a game night also. They post several new swaps each month and you always have plenty of time to finish them.
So go join, but only if you want to have TONS of fun sitting in front of you computer :)
Hugs and Blessings,
Becky

Summer of Color week 1 - Citron and Turquoise
Hi everyone! Yes, I am still alive :)
So I told you I was going to join the Summer of Color this year again! I hope you all went over to Kristin's blog and were inspired to join too :) I have been making a wind chime for a FB exchange and so decided I would make another one using the citron and turquoise for SOC. Unfortunately, it is not quite finished, but was supposed to post it by today... in fact I misread and thought I had until 10:00 this evening but it was 10:00 this morning! Oh well, just won't be in the drawing for the fabulous prize Kristin is giving away, but I won't miss it next time hopefully :) I will post another picture of the finished chime. My daughter, Layna, has already claimed this for herself LOL.

It's time for Summer of Color!!! Yay :) This is the third year that Kristin has hosted this fun event! The link is http://www.twinkletwinklelikeastar.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-summer-of-color-2013.html to get all the information. You can do whatever kind of artistic project you want using the posted color combination - six weeks of color prompts and inspiration! The first one will be posted on Monday, June 10th, but go check it out now and vote for the color combination you want to start with! This is going to be so much fun! I am hoping (planning) to either paint or draw something each week since I have really slacked off lately on my painting. I have been doing tons of paper crafting (though I have not posted anything - bad blogger) and I may end up doing some paper crafts, but hoping to actually get out my oils and/or other medias to create something fun! Come and join us :)
God Bless,
Becky
